Fluid or Fluidised bed dryer is a kind of equipment used extensively in the pharmaceutical industries to reduce the moisture content in raw ingredients like powder and granules. The working principle of this equipment includes fluidization of the fed materials.

A fluidized bed is a bed of solid particles with a stream of gas blowing upward through the particles at a rate high enough to set them in motion [3]. Fluid-bed processing involves drying, cooling, agglomeration, glanulation, and coating of particulate materials.

A Dryer Cooler is a cooling device that uses air to achieve process temperature regulation. The cooling done by a Dryer Cooler is based on the principles of sensible heat rejection. A typical unit requires a cooling medium channeled from an associated process that enters a Dryer Cooler and exchanges accumulated heat with the air circulating within.

Dryer Coolers are equipped with fans that pull air from the cooler’s exterior to sustain the heat exchange process. To ensure efficient process cooling, a suitable difference in temperatures between the cooling medium and the air within the Dryer Cooler must be maintained. A minimum difference of 5°C is usually enough.

A thermic fluid heater is industrial heating equipment, used where only heat transfers are desired instead of pressure. In this equipment, a thermic fluid is circulated in the entire system for heat transfers to the desired processes. Combustion process heats up the thermic fluid, and this fluid carries and rejects this heat to the desired fluid for concluding the processes. After rejecting it, this fluid comes back again to the thermic fluid heater^{[1][better source needed]} and this cycle goes on.
